Checking Communication

When a message is sent from the remote key to the vehicle, it is received by the remote receiver, which in turn, sends the message on to the Keyless vehicle module (KVM).

• Check the communication with the remote receiver by pressing the VCT2000 symbol in VIDA (Volvo scan tool).

Results 

• If the result indicates a short-circuit or open-circuit on the communication cable, the signal cable between the Keyless vehicle module (KVM) and the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) must be checked.
• If the result is a general communication error with SRX, Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) must be replaced.
• If the result indicates that the frequency does not correspond with the vehicle configuration file, the installed remote receiver is probably intended for another vehicle. Check that the remote receiver is intended for this vehicle and replace the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) if not. If the correct remote receiver is installed, download new software to the Central electronic module (CEM).
