Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information CEM-U023187
Condition
The Central Electronic Module (CEM) both transmits and receives information via a standardized serial communication method - IN (Local Interconnect Network).
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- No communication with the Rain sensor module (RSM).
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Ignition switch position I and II.
NOTE:
The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.
Substitute Value
- None.
Possible Source
- Open-circuit in the power supply to the rain sensor module (RSM).
- Open-circuit in the ground lead to the rain sensor module (RSM).
- Contact resistance in the terminals.
- Leaking battery acid in Siren control module (SCM) causes interference in the LIN-net.
- Rain sensor module (RSM) not functioning.
NOTE:
The cause of the fault can lie in the IN network for the Interior movement sensor (IMS), Heartbeat sensor (HBS) and the Siren control module (SCM)
Fault symptom[s]
- Rain sensor fail to work
