Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information DEM-U040168
Condition
This diagnostic trouble code is an event-controlled trouble code which is detected if output RPM is too low compared to input RPM from the engine side. An event controlled diagnostic trouble code (DTC) does not mean that there is a fault in the control module when it is active, but is designed as information.
The control modules transmit and receive information via a standardized serial communication method - CAN (Control Area Network). If a control module registers a fault, the control module can then transmit a signal informing that its information cannot be trusted.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects:
- The signal that informs that the information from the Engine control module (ECM) is incorrect.
- Incorrect value lasts longer than 10 seconds.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Ignition switch position II.
The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.
