Checking The Programmed VIN In The Phone Module (PHM)

• Ignition on.

  The VIN for the vehicle is programmed in phone modules (PHM) with Volvo On Call functionality. The VIN is transmitted every time a Volvo On Call service is started, together with the relevant vehicle data to the Volvo On Call Service Center. The VIN is used by the Volvo On Call Service Center to identify the customer.

  If an incorrect VIN is programmed in the phone module (PHM), the Volvo On Call Service Center will not be able to identify the customer.

  The VIN is also used when the activating/deactivating a Volvo On Call subscription for the customer. A code is entered via the keypad. If an incorrect VIN is programmed in the phone module (PHM), the Volvo On Call function cannot be activated/deactivated. The correct VIN must be programmed in order for the code to work.

  Check that the VIN that is programmed in the phone module (PHM) corresponds to the vehicle VIN by clicking on the VCT2000 symbol in VIDA (Volvo scan tool).

Is the VIN correct? 

• YES 

  FAULT NOT FOUND:  Troubleshooting has been completed.

• NO
