Checking Configuration Id
The main supplemental restraint system module (SRS) on sensor-CAN sends out a configuration ID that is checked by other nodes. When the control modules' configuration IDs do not correspond, a DTC is stored. The fault can be due to a customer or workshop replacing a control module without downloading new software for the replacement. Attempt to remedy the fault by downloading new software to the control module.
- Download new software to the Forward Sensing Module (FSM) under the SOFTWARE tab.
If the fault persists after reprogramming the Forward Sensing Module (FSM):Fault trace the cables for sensor CAN between the Forward Sensing Module (FSM) and the Supplemental restraint system module (SRS).
Fault-tracing information
The list below shows which DTCs can be stored on the local network sensor CAN (reservation for future changes/updates). The table indicates where on the local network sensor CAN there may be a fault.
| DTC in control module | Short-circuit, open-circuit, internal fault, damaged control module ("bus-off") | Incorrect configuration ID | SRS, signal missing | BCM, signal missing | FSM, signal missing | CVM, signal missing | OWS, signal missing |
| SRS | U002800 | - | - | - | - | U023500 | U015400 |
| Brake control module | U002888 | U002855 | U015100 | - | U010400 | U023500 | - |
| FSM | U002888 | U002855 | U015100 | - | - | - | - |
| CVM | U002800 | U03004A | - | - | - | - | - |
