The upper electronic module (UEM) receives information from the siren

If the alarm does not respond to repeated requests from the upper electronic module (UEM), the control module interprets it as a communication fault and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be detected 40 seconds after the control module has been initialized.

Substitute Value 

• None.

Possible Source 

• Open-circuit in UEM_K3 (the serial cable between the upper electronic module (UEM), siren and sun roof)
• Short-circuit to ground in UEM_K3
• Short-circuit to supply voltage in UEM_K3
• Defective siren.

Fault symptom[s] 

• Alarm/Arming does not work/No visible indication
• Alarm/Alarm will not set off/No visible and/or audible signal
• Text window and warning symbol/Text message
