Checking cable and component

HINT: The signal loop runs from rear electronic module (REM) terminal #48 (#C8) to the glass breakage loop in the right-hand rear window, to the glass breakage loop in the left-hand rear window and then to the ground terminal. 

Check the glass breakage loop and the intermediate cable between rear electronic module (REM) terminal #48 (#C8) and the ground terminal. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.

Remedy as necessary.
