Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information REM-6A15
Condition
The rear electrical module (REM) checks if the tailgate is open or closed using a switch in the lock unit of the tailgate. The switch provides a ground to the rear electronic module (REM) when the tailgate is shut.
The rear electronic module (REM) checks the status of the switch by powering it for a short period ("polling").
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the rear electronic module (REM) receives a high signal from the tailgate switch when the control module has not polled that switch. This is seen as a short-circuit to supply voltage in the switch or the cable to the switch.
