Checking the wiring

• Ignition on.

  Erase diagnostic trouble codes by clicking the VCT2000 symbol.

  NOTE:

  Note any other diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) that are in the control module, before the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are erased, in order to carry out other fault-traces.

  Activate the rear fog lamp using the switch on the Light switch module (LSM).

  The fog lamp relay clicks when it is deactivated.

  If a clicking sound can be heard, the circuit up to the Rear electronic module (REM) is fault free.

  Deactivate the rear fog lamp.

  Measure the voltage between the lead for voltage feed and a safe grounding point.

  The voltage must be 0 V.

  Check the connectors between the Rear electronic module (REM) and the Trailer module (TRM). Check for contact resistance and oxidation. Check for loose connections.

  Remedy as necessary.
