Checking Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
NOTE:
During this fault-tracing, the transmission and the oil should be at normal room temperature from the start in order to check the sensor function.
- Ignition on
- Read off the oil temperature
- Start the engine. Allow the engine to idle. Apply the parking brake and brake with the foot brake. Then engage gear D. Keep the brakes applied.
Allow the transmission to warm up. Check that the oil temperature increases and appears to be within the permitted range. Compare with the transmission temperature.
NOTE:The transmission temperature sensor is located inside the control system and may be affected by the heat given off by the solenoids.
The fault is permanent if the temperature is outside the permitted range.
If the temperature is within the permitted range, this is an indication that the fault was present previously but that it is not active at the moment, i.. he fault is intermittent.
