Checking The Ignition Switch
- Click on the VCT2000 symbol.
- Check the status for the switch for key-in.
HINT: If the vehicle is equipped with Keyless vehicle module (KVM) always use the remote key in the ignition switch.
Is the function OK?
- Click on the VCT2000 symbol.
- Check that the status of the ignition switch corresponds to all key positions.
Compare with table in DESCRIPTION OF SWITCH FOR START CONTROL UNIT (SCU) .
HINT: If the vehicle is equipped with Keyless vehicle module (KVM) always use the remote key in the ignition switch.
Are all key positions OK?
- YES
Refer to CHECKING THE STARTER MOTOR CIRCUIT
- NO
- Click on the VCT2000 symbol.
- Check that the status of the ignition switch corresponds to all key positions.
Compare with table in DESCRIPTION OF SWITCH FOR START CONTROL UNIT (SCU) .

Are all key positions OK?
- YES

- Click on the VCT2000 symbol.
- Check that the status of the ignition switch corresponds to all key positions.
Compare with table in DESCRIPTION OF SWITCH FOR START CONTROL UNIT (SCU) .
Are all key positions OK?
- YES

- NO
Refer to CHECKING THE IGNITION SWITCH
- Change to another key belonging to the vehicle.
- Click on the VCT2000 symbol.
- Check that the status of the ignition switch corresponds to all key positions.
Compare with table in DESCRIPTION OF SWITCH FOR START CONTROL UNIT (SCU) .
If key positions' status cannot be read out, or if the shown key position is invalid, the Start Control Unit (SCU) is probably defective.
Are all key positions OK?
- YES

- Click on the VCT2000 symbol.
- Check that the status of the ignition switch corresponds to all key positions.
Compare with table in DESCRIPTION OF SWITCH FOR START CONTROL UNIT (SCU) .
