Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information ECM-510F

Condition 

(AUT) The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored in the engine control module (ECM) if a discrepancy between the speed signals from the brake control module (BCM) and the transmission control module (TCM) is detected by the engine control module (ECM).

(MAN) The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored in the engine control module (ECM) if the speed signal from the brake control module (BCM) is not within the permitted range, calculated on the basis of engine speed and load.

Substitute Value 

• Cruise control is switched off.

Possible Source 

• Faulty speed signal to the brake control module (BCM).

  Fault trace the brake control module (BCM)

• Faulty speed signal to the transmission control module (TCM). (AUT)

  Fault trace the transmission control module (TCM)

• Contact resistance in the control area network (CAN) terminals
• Open-circuit in one or both CAN cables
• Damaged brake control module (BCM)
• Damaged transmission control module (TCM). (AUT).

Fault symptom[s] 

• The cruise control does not function at all.
