The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the engine control module (ECM) registers an internal fault in the control for the heated oxygen sensors (HO2S).

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the ignition is switched on.

• Damaged engine control module (ECM).

• Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit.
