Fault-Tracing Information

Check the power supply and ground terminal to the electrical power steering module (EPS).

NOTE:

For vehicles manufactured between w38 (2003) and w48 (2004), diagnostic trouble code (DTC) EPS-0071 is sometimes generated even though there is no fault in the power supply to the electrical power steering module (EPS). If there are no fault symptoms (see diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information) for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC), it is to be cleared immediately.

Remedy as necessary.
