The Engine control module (ECM) continuously monitors a number of internal signals through calculations and compares them. The aim is to ensure reliability during operation.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:

Internal checks give unacceptable results.

The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:

Engine running.

Substitute Value

Various internal signals in the engine control module (ECM) are replaced with default values.

Possible Source

Sequential fault related to throttle. Therefore fault-trace for another diagnostic trouble code (DTC).
Poorly charged battery or corroded connecting wiring.
Damaged software in the engine control module (ECM).
Damaged engine control module (ECM).
