DESCRIPTION

During fault tracing a technician may notice that CCM DTC U040168 (Invalid Data Received from ECM/PCM A. Algorithm Based Failures, Event information) is posted. This DTC can be posted due to an incorrect interpretation of the quality factor for the ambient temperature by the CCM.

Known reasons for this DTC to be posted incorrectly are:

Long periods of engine idle (5 minutes directly after engine start with no throttle application).

There is no customer indication of this DTC.

PRODUCT MODIFICATION

A change in VIDA fault tracing has been requested.
