software is upgraded

For upgraded software, released during year 2006 or later, this diagnostic trouble code is used as an information diagnostic trouble code. It will be stored in case the replacement value throttle shut off is or has been activated. It is always stored as the result of another trouble code, troubleshooting is not required.

CAUTION:

There are individual cases when diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECM-914F can be the only code stored in the Engine control module (ECM). If the upgraded software, released in 2006 or later, is downloaded and only diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECM-914F is stored in the Engine control module (ECM), try replacing the throttle unit.

Other information

CAUTION:

In order for Electronic throttle module (ETM) to reset any reconfigurations as well as delete internally stored problems, the following must be performed:

  • Ignition off, wait three minutes so that the main relay / system relay releases the voltage feed to, among other, Electronic throttle module (ETM).
  • Then turn on the ignition and turn it off again.
  • Wait another three minutes. If the electric cooling fan is running, you have to wait another two minutes after the electric cooling fan has stopped, to make sure that Electronic throttle module (ETM) has been shut off correctly.

If this is not done correctly, diagnostic trouble codes may remain even after deletion of diagnostic trouble codes as well as any reconfiguration, despite the problem being fixed.
