Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information EPS-0041

Condition

The electrical power steering module (EPS) monitors the internal temperature of the control module.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the electrical power steering module (EPS) calculates that the temperature in the power stage for the control module exceeds 175 °C for more than 100 ms.

NOTE:

If diagnostic trouble code (DTC) EPS-0030 is stored simultaneously with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) EPS-0041, diagnostic trouble code (DTC) EPS-0030 must be remedied first.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the engine is idling.

Substitute Value

Restriction of power to the pump motor.

Possible Source

High outside temperature or engine compartment temperature combined with "hard driving".
Mechanical or hydraulic fault in the power steering system (example: steering gear, hoses or pipes blocked)
Damaged electrical power steering module (EPS).

Fault symptom[s]

Weak or no power steering effect.
