Condition

The electrical power steering module (EPS) monitors the internal memory function of the control module.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the electrical power steering module (EPS) detects an internal fault in the control module EEPROM.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the ignition is switched on.

Substitute Value 

• The electrical power steering module (EPS) uses a preprogrammed general vehicle profile.

Possible Source 

• Incorrect software for the present vehicle profile in the electrical power steering module (EPS)
• Damaged electrical power steering module (EPS).
