Checking components and wiring
Check the rear electronic module (REM) and seat belt reminder sensor connectors. Check for contact resistance and oxidation. Check for damage and loose connections. Also check intermediate connector.
Check the signal cable between rear electronic module (REM) terminal #B19 (terminal #A39) and seat belt reminder sensor connector terminal #9. Check for an open-circuit.
Check the signal cable between rear electronic module (REM) terminal #B20 (terminal #A40) and seat belt reminder sensor connector terminal #10. Check for an open-circuit.
Check the seat belt reminder sensor. Measure the resistance between terminals #9 and #10 in the sensor connector.
HINT: The resistance should be above 100 kΩ with no passengers and below 10 kΩ with passengers.
Remedy as necessary.
