Replacing the component

• Ignition off
• Replace the relay for heating the leak diagnostic pump
• Ignition on.

  Activate and deactivate the relay. The relay must click.

  If the function is now OK, the cause of the fault was a defective relay (short-circuit to ground or an open-circuit in the relay coil).

Was the function OK? 

• YES 

  OKAY:  Troubleshooting has been completed.

• NO 

  Refer to Checking the control module for open-circuits
