Checking for a short-circuit

Check that the button has not jammed in its depressed position.

Check the cable between the upper electronic module (UEM) and the roof lamp module. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.

UEM-001D front left reading lamp

Control module terminal #4 and roof lamp module terminal #8A.

UEM-001E front right reading lamp

Control module terminal #16 and roof lamp module terminal #7A.

Replace the cable if a fault is found.

With the ignition on and when the function is not activated, the voltage between terminal #8A (UEM 001D) and terminal #7A (UEM 001E) on the roof lamp unit (control module side) and ground should be 0 V
