Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information

The gearbox output speed sensor gives the transmission control module (TCM) a signal on the speed of the output drive shaft. Using this signal, the control module can calculate the output speed of the gearbox. The signal is compared with a signal from the gearbox input speed sensor and is used to calculate the gear ratio of the gearbox as well as for diagnosis.

If the transmission control module (TCM) registers that the speed signal from the brake control module (BCM) does not agree with the signal from the output speed sensor, the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is generated.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed at speeds above approximately 30 km/h and engine speeds above 400 RPM.
