The fault tracing that follows depends on whether the software in the control module is upgraded. The control module's software version can be read out using appropriate diagnostics tool.

• Ignition on.
• Read out the control module's software.

Check, using the identification of the upgraded software Engine control module (ECM)/Electronic throttle module (ETM) that the correct software is in the Electronic throttle module (ETM) and the Engine control module (ECM). Identifying upgraded software ECM/ETM

Select one of the following options: 

1. The software is not upgraded.
2. The software is upgraded.
