Checking wiring and components
Check the resistance of the front heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) element between #1 and #2. Resistance should be approximately 1.0 at 20°C (68°F).
Check heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) connector for contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. permanent fault .
Check the cable between control module #A18 and front heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) #2 for a short-circuit to ground according to Short-circuit to ground, permanent faults , and for an open-circuit according to Open-circuit, permanent faults .
Check the cable between control module #A69 and front heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) #1 for an open-circuit according to Open-circuit, permanent faults .
Check the cable between control module #A36 and ground for an open-circuit according to Open-circuit, permanent faults .
Remedy as necessary.
