Checking wiring and components

Check outside temperature sensor resistance. For resistance values, see Outside temperature sensor .

Check signal cable between control module connector #B29 (#B41) and outside temperature sensor terminal 1 for an open-circuit according to Open-circuit, permanent faults and a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Short-circuit to supply voltage. Permanent faults .

HINT: With the ignition on and outside temperate sensor connector disconnected the voltage between terminal 1 and ground terminal should be approximately 5 V.

Check the ground lead between control module #B4 (#B16) and outside temperature sensor terminal 2 for an open-circuit according to Open-circuit, permanent faults .

Remedy as necessary.
