Ignition off
Disconnect connectors D and F on the rear electronic module (REM).
Check the signal cable. Check for a short-circuit to ground.

For the S80 and S60

Take readings between:
- Rear electronic module (REM) terminal #D2 (#2) and terminal #2 on the connector for the left-hand cargo compartment lamp
- Rear electronic module (REM) terminal #D11 (#11) and terminal #2 on the connector for the right-hand cargo compartment lamp.
