Checking the rear electronic module (REM)
Check the rear electronic module (REM) and seat belt reminder sensor connectors. Check for contact resistance and oxidation. Check for damage and loose connections. Also check intermediate connector.
Check the signal cables. Check for a short-circuit between the cables by measuring the resistance between the rear electronic module (REM) terminals #B19 (#A39) and #B20 (#A40) with the seat belt reminder sensor disconnected. The resistance must be infinite.
Check the seat belt reminder sensor. Measure the resistance between terminals #9 and #10 in the sensor connector.
HINT: The resistance should be above 100 kΩ with no passengers and below 10 kΩ with passengers.
Remedy as necessary.
