Checking the signal cable

• Ignition off
• Disconnect the 20-pin connector (group A) from the central electronic module (CEM)
• Disconnect the 1-pin connector from the generator (GEN) (1B).

  Check the signal cable between the central electronic module (CEM) terminal #5A and generator (GEN) terminal #1B (the red / white cable with flat pin). Check for a short-circuit to ground.

  Remedy as necessary.

Is the signal cable OK? 

• YES 

  Refer to Replacing the governor 

• NO 

  Refer to Verification
