Handling non-deployed SRS components: Notes
The illustrations in this service information are used for different model years and/or models. Some variation may occur. However, the essential information in the illustrations is always correct.
Non-deployed pyrotechnical SRS components must not be deployed or ignited inside the vehicle.
For disarming of non-deployed pyrotechnical SRS units, see: Non-triggered SRS components, destruction .
For other information about the SRS (supplemental restraint system) after a collision, see Handling deployed supplemental restraint (SRS) systems .
Driver/passenger airbag modules and pyrotechnical seat belt tensioners must never be taken apart, repaired or transferred to another vehicle.
Under no circumstances use an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument to take readings on a disconnected non-deployed airbag or seat belt tensioner. This could deploy the modules / seat belt tensioners.
