Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information ECM-1100

Condition

The central electronic module (CEM) transmits the signal from the outside temperature sensor via CAN to the engine control module (ECM).

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) (Signal too high/signal too low) is stored in the engine control module (ECM) if the signal from the outside temperature sensor is determined to be outside of its normal range. The fault is diagnosed at ignition on or with the engine running.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) (Faulty signal) is stored in the engine control module (ECM) if the signal from the outside temperature sensor is within its normal range but deviates from the calculated temperature. The fault is diagnosed when the engine is running, approximately 2 minutes after the engine is started.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) (Signal missing) is stored in the engine control module (ECM) if the central electronic module (CEM) has adjudged the signal from the outside temperature sensor as being incorrect.

The fault is diagnosed at ignition on or with the engine running.

Substitute Value

The value from the engine intake air temperature (IAT) sensor in the intake manifold is used.
