Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information ECM-510F

Condition 

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) (Signal missing) is stored if the CAN communication between the brake control module (BCM) and the engine control module (ECM) is lost or disrupted. A fault message is transmitted to the engine control module (ECM) and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) (Signal too high/Signal too low) is stored if a fault in the speed signal is detected in the brake control module (BCM). The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the car is being driven.

Substitute Value 

The speed signal from the brake control module (BCM) is set at 0 km/h.

Possible Source 

Signal too high / Signal too low 

• Fault trace the brake control module (BCM).

Signal missing 

• Open-circuit or short-circuit in CAN wiring between the engine control module (ECM) and the brake control module (BCM)
• Damaged brake control module (BCM)
• Damaged engine control module (ECM).

Fault symptom[s] 

• Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit.
