The information about the fuel level in the fuel tank is used for calculation when detecting leakage at leak diagnosis.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored in the engine control module (ECM) if the engine control module (ECM) detects an electrical fault in the fuel level sensor, and leakage in the fuel tank system (minor leak or major leak) after leak diagnostics.
