Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information ECM-140A

Condition

The engine control module (ECM) measures the pressure in the intake manifold using a sensor. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the engine control module (ECM) detects that the sensor value deviates too much from a calculated model.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is diagnosed at a fixed engine speed above 1100 RPM and with the engine at operating temperature (>70 °C).

Substitute Value 

• The value from the mass air flow (MAF) sensor is used.

Possible Source 

• Contact resistance in the connector
• Defective hose connector
• Damaged manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor.

Fault symptom[s] 

• Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit
• Poor accelerator pedal (AP) response.
