Checking The Components And Wiring

Check knock sensor (KS) connector. Check for contact resistance and oxidation.
Check the signal cable between knock sensor (KS) terminal #1 and engine control module (ECM) terminal #A80 (#B20) and the ground lead between knock sensor (KS) terminal #2 and engine control module (ECM) terminal #A56 (#A56). Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to ground.

Check that the knock sensor (KS) is tightened to the correct torque.

Remedy as necessary.
