Ignition off
Remove the Winter (W) mode selector from the center console according to Replacing the panel with integrated winter mode switch .
Check that the W mode selector button does not stick in the depressed position.

Check the cable between the mode selector connector terminal #2 and transmission control module (TCM) terminal #37. Check for a an intermittent short-circuit to ground according to Short-circuit to ground, intermittent faults .
