Checking the connectors

Check the engine control module (ECM) and transmission control module (TCM) connectors. Check for contact resistance and oxidation according to Contact resistance and oxidation .

Check for loose or damaged terminal pins.

Reconnect the connectors.

Start the engine.

Read off the status of the diagnostic trouble code (DTC).

Is the status intermittent? 

• YES 

  Refer to Verification 

• NO 

  Refer to Checking wiring
