Checking the connectors
- Ignition off
- Check the throttle position (TP) sensor connector. Check for contact resistance and oxidation according to Contact resistance and oxidation . Check for loose connections according to Loose connections (terminals) . In particular, check for any damage
- Check the signal cable between throttle position sensor terminal #C and control module terminal #43. Check the power supply cable between throttle position sensor terminal #B and control module terminal #78. Check these cables for an intermittent open-circuit according to Open-circuit, intermittent faults
. Check for an intermittent short-circuit to ground according to Short-circuit to ground, intermittent faults
.
HINT: The throttle position (TP) sensor receives 5 V from control module terminal #78.
