Checking wiring

Check the signal cable between engine control module (ECM) terminal #47 and engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor terminal #1. Check for an intermittent short-circuit to ground according to Short-circuit to ground, intermittent faults . Remedy if necessary.

Try a new engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor according to Replacing the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor .
