Checking the signal cable resistance to ground

• Ignition off.
• DSA control module disconnected.
• Engine control module (ECM) disconnected.
• Breakout box connected to the engine control module (ECM).

  FENIX 5.1 

  • Connect an ohmmeter between breakout box terminal 41 and ground.
  • On vehicles with automatic transmission: Disconnect the automatic transmission control module (TCM).

  EMS 2000 

  • Connect an ohmmeter between breakout box terminal 36 and ground.

The ohmmeter should read infinite resistance. 

• OK 

  Refer to Checking the signal cable for a short-circuit to supply voltage 

• NOT OK 

  Refer to Checking for a short-circuit
