Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information
Condition
The driver can engage or disengage winter mode (W) with the mode selector. A signal cable and a ground lead are connected to the mode selector. The signal is grounded when the button is pressed. This instructs the control module to change shift program.
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) TCM-0036 is stored if the transmission control module (TCM) registers that the signal is faulty.

Possible Source
- Short-circuit to ground in the signal cable
- Defective mode selector.
NOTE:
A diagnostic trouble code (DTC) will be stored if the W button is pressed for several minutes.
