Checking the function of the ABS warning lamp: Verification
HINT: Check after repair that the fault has been rectified.
HINT: Proceed as follows:
- Switch off the ignition.
- Switch off all power consuming components such as the courtesy lighting and the radio.
- Connect an ohmmeter between terminal 16 on the breakout box and the battery negative terminal.
The ohmmeter should read approximately 0 Ω.

HINT: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied as follows:
- Ignition off.
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on.
The ABS warning lamp must light when the ignition is switched to position II. It should go out after 4 seconds, or when the engine is started.
HINT: The ABS warning lamp does not go out if the control module has registered a fault.
Does the lamp go out approximately 4 seconds after the ignition is switched on?
