Checking the wires and components

Disconnect RTI switch unit from audio/radio switch unit. Do this to localize fault.

Make a note of the audio/telephone switch-unit button status.

If a button is activated and has not been pressed manually, the fault is in the RTI switch unit.

Disconnect lower connector from audio/radio switch unit. Do this to localize fault.

Make a note of the audio/telephone switch-unit button status.

If a button is activated and has not been pressed manually, the fault is in the audio/telephone switch unit.

Disconnect lower connector from cruise-control switch unit. Do this to localize fault.

Make a note of the audio/telephone switch-unit button status.

If a button is activated and has not been pressed manually, the fault is in the cruise-control switch unit or in the wire between the cruise-control switch unit and audio/telephone switch unit.

Do the necessary corrective action.
