Programming remote controls
Remote controls can be added to or removed from cars which already have a remote control function. A maximum of 3 remote controls can be programmed into the VGLA control module. When programming a remote control, the control module identifies the relevant remote control and stores it in the control module memory. More remote controls can be added after the initial programming. The erase function is used when the customer wishes to prevent one or more remote controls from being used for the lock and alarm system in the car. The remote controls may have been stolen and could be traced back to the vehicle. During programming, when the control module receives a code from one of the remaining remote controls, all previous remote codes are erased from the control module. Only the code from the last used remote control is stored. The remaining remote controls must be programmed into the control module again. It is important therefore that the customer takes all the remote controls to the dealer.
