Diagnostic trouble code information
Condition
The steering wheel angle sensor has two circuits each with 4 LEDs and 4 receptors which read off their individual code wheel. One circuit measures the steering wheel angle and the other measures steering wheel revolutions. If the steering wheel angle sensor (SAS) control unit registers that the wires for the signals A/B/IX/IY between the steering wheel angle sensor (SAS) control unit and the steering wheel angle sensor have short-circuited to each other, diagnostic trouble code SAS-0023 is set.

- Stabilising function disconnected.
- Anti-spin function blocked.
Possible Source
- The signal wires for the signals A/B/IX/IY have short-circuited to each other.
- Internal fault in the steering wheel angle sensor control unit.
