Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2009 Volvo S60, 2008 Volvo S60, 2007 Volvo S60, 2006 Volvo S60, and 2005 Volvo S60. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

A diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if a control module detects a fault in a connected component.

If for some reason a fault disappears after the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) has been permanently stored in a control module, information about the fault remains in the control module.

Rear electronic module (REM)

Rear electronic module (REM) can identify 12 different faults associated with the central locking system and can store up to 10 diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) simultaneously.

For further information, see Design and Function, rear electronic module (REM).

Driver door module (DDM)

Driver door module (DDM) can identify 20 different faults associated with the central locking system and can store up to 10 diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) simultaneously. For further information, see Design and Function, driver door module (DDM) and passenger door module (PDM).

Passenger door module (PDM)

Passenger door module (PDM) can identify 20 different faults associated with the central locking system and can store up to 10 diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) simultaneously. For further information, see Design and Function, driver door module (DDM) and passenger door module (PDM).
