Deactivating The Alarm
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2009 Volvo S60, 2008 Volvo S60, 2007 Volvo S60, 2006 Volvo S60, and 2005 Volvo S60. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The alarm can be deactivated as follows:
- Using the remote control UNLOCK button
- Using the key in the driver's door lock cylinder (market dependent)
- Using the key in the driver's door lock cylinder and then turning the ignition to position II
- If the key is inserted in the ignition switch within 25 seconds after the alarm is activated. This is a safety feature which prevents the alarm being deployed when a driver presses down the lock button on the remote control by mistake when sitting inside the car. The alarm is deployed if the driver takes longer than 25 seconds from depressing the lock button to inserting the key in the ignition.
An acknowledgment that the alarm is deactivated is obtained by the alarm diode on the dashboard going out and not flashing.
