1. The steering wheel angle sensor has two circuits each with 4 LEDs and 4 receptors which read off their individual code wheel. One circuit measures the steering wheel angle and the other measures steering wheel revolutions. If the steering wheel angle sensor (SAS) control unit registers a faulty steering wheel angle signal from the steering wheel angle sensor, diagnostic trouble code SAS-0020 is set.

Substitute Value 

• Stabilizing function disconnected.
• Anti-spin function blocked.

Possible Source 

• Internal fault in steering wheel angle sensor.
• Internal fault in the steering wheel angle sensor control unit.

Fault symptom[s] 

• Anti-spin warning lamp is on.
• Stabilising function not working.
• Anti-spin does not work.
