Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information

Condition 

The driving section of the transmission is disengaged when certain conditions are met:

• Stationary
• Engine idling
• Stop pedal depressed
• Gear position D, 3 or 4.

The function decreases fuel consumption and vibration from the transmission when running the engine at idle speed.

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) TCM-012A is stored if the transmission control module (TCM) registers that clutch C1 disengages incorrectly.

Substitute Value 

• None.

Possible Source 

• Shift solenoid S1 has jammed in the OFF position
• Shift solenoid S2 has jammed in the ON position
• Solenoid SLT has jammed in the OFF position
• Internal fault in the transmission
• Defective control module.

Fault symptom[s] 

• General orange warning lamp lit
• Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit.
