Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SWM-0009 is stored if the micro-processor/control module registers that the serial interface between the steering wheel module and the steering wheel switches is short circuited to 12 V and the signal is high for more than 300 ms.

Substitute Value

The cruise control is deactivated for the rest of the journey.

Possible Source

The serial interface between the steering wheel module and the steering wheel switches is short circuited to voltage.

Fault symptom[s]

Cruise control does not function at all.
The steering wheel radio controls do not function.
The steering wheel RTI controls do not function.
The steering wheel carphone controls do not function.
